Welcome to Tetouan
Like many other Moroccan holiday spots, Tetouan is set in a beautiful natural location, with mountains arising from the Mediterranean on its south and west, across from the valley where it is situated. A large bustling city typical of Northern Morocco it is home to one of the best old Medinas you will find. A visit is a must with its twisting alleyways full pots, pans, spices, fruit & vegetables, fabrics, carpets, shoes, in fact anything that you can possibly think of to buy! There are many different quarters within its walls with signs of the influence of the Spanish and French occupation in the architecture. Eight of its original city gates are still standing with the nicest being the oldest Bab el Okla.
Outside of the Medina, shops, banks, restaurants and cafes fill the wide tree lined avenues of this busy working city which reflects everyday Moroccan life making it a must to visit!
