Berber Mountains

Amizmiz Valley

These day walks will take you through the green valleys at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Explore the Ourika, Ouirgane, Nfiss, or Azaden Valleys.We invite you to explore the beautiful landscape protected by the High atlas in the valley of Amizmiz. Doing trekking in this valley is easy and can be done by anybody.

In 55 km from Marrakesh, in the mountains of western High Atlas, we discover a world rich of its fabulous paths and wonderful views. A hike through the berber villages and end up finding the magical red city of Marrakesh is one of a kind experience.

Program (1 day hiking trip):

  • 7 a.m: departure from Marrakesh towards Amizmiz
  • 8 a.m: arrival to Amizmiz
  • 8:30 am: Start of trekking program
    . from Amizmiz towards potier' village
    . from potiers' village towards the pass of Tizi-Ighouran
    . from the pass towards Sidi Hsaine
    . direction sid Hsaine for lunch next to an amazing river.
    . from Sidi Hsaine towards Ait Hamed
  • Return to Amizmiz towards Marrakesh.

Toubkal Ascension

Toubkal is the highest mountain of the Atlas’ chain, it is Interrupted with deep valleys with the view of the Berber with their beautiful villages down the valley. This trekking is a great experience that everyone in good physical condition can do. The hike is also the opportunity to live in high height and to dominate the horizon and the view of Marrakech which can be seen easily in a clear weather.

Program (4 days and 3 nights):

1st Day: Departure from Marrakech at 7 a.m towards Tassa Wirgane, arrival at 8:30 am, walk at 9 am towards Tizi Oussem (1722 m), diner and night in a gite.(6 Hours walk)

2nd Day: Hiking trip starts at 8 a.m vers Tizi-n-Tadate, arrival to Toubkal refuge, dinner and night in the refuge. (7 Hours walk)

3rd Day: Hiking at 6 am towards the summit of Toubkal (4167 m), 3 hours walk, Return to Imlil, then heading back to Marrakech
