National Parks

1. Zion National Park- 30 minutes from Hurricane City, Zion is famous for its stunning canyons, rock formations, and amazing hiking trails.

2. Bryce Canyon National Park - Approximately 2 hours away, Bryce Canyon is known for its unique hoodoo rock formations and breathtaking views.

3. Grand Canyon National Park - (North Rim) is a 3-hour drive, the North Rim offers stunning views and a less crowded experience of the iconic Grand Canyon.

4. Capitol Reef National Park -Approximately 2.5 hours from Hurricane.  Expect vast hiking locale with diverse terrain such as domes, cliffs, and a 100-mile-long monocline.

5. Arches National Park -Approximately 4 hours from Hurricane. Incredibly scenic region with a variety of hiking trails with red rock vistas and 2,000 stone arches.

6. Canyonlands National Park- Approximately 4 hours from Hurricane. Split by 2 rivers, you can visit this majestic park in 4 different zones featuring sandstone spires and Island in the sky mesa.

State Parks

1. Sand Hollow State Park - is located in Hurricane, Utah offers a red sandstone landscape with a reservoir perfect for boating, fishing, and off-highway vehicle riding on Sand Mountain.

2. Red Cliffs State Park -12 miles from Hurricane City center is a Nature preserve offering hiking, biking, climbing, rappelling, and it is pet-friendly..

3. Quail Creek State Park - Located in Hurricane, Utah offers large pavilions with bbq’s and picnic tables perfect for large gatherings. With a rocky beach this beautiful reservoir is prefect for fishing and paddle sports.

4. Snow Canyon State Park - Just 30 minutes from Hurricane this area offers rich features of beautiful red rock formations, lava tubs, and various hiking trails.

5. Gunlock State Park - Approximately 1 hour from Hurricane offers stunning waterfalls, hiking trails, and boating amid striking red rock scenery.

6. Goblin Valley State Park - Approximately 3 hours from Hurricane City. This stunning State Park offers sandstone hoodoos, caves, and wonderfully dark sky’s for star gazing.

7. Cathedral Gorge State Park -Approximately 2 hours from Hurricane. This is a 2,000 acre park with unique walking trails through slot canyons, camping, and picnic areas. Enjoy the wild rock formations without the crowds as this park has a very mild busy season.

8. Dead Horse Point State Park - Approximately 4 hours from Hurricane. This underrated State Park near Moab offers great camping, hiking/biking trails, with beautiful overlook’s, and views of the Colorado River.

Other attractions

1. Fishlake National Forest -Approximately 2 hours from Hurricane, is home to the Mother Pando Aspen Tree that is believed to have been a single seed that grew at the end of the last ice age - now spreading over 106 acres connected by the roots. This cloning root system is estimated to be the oldest living organism on earth, weighing 13 million pounds - it is certainly the largest living organism.

2. Grand staircase, Escalante National Monument - Approximately 2 hours from Hurricane with scenic opportunities for hiking and peaceful drives overlooking the unique rock formations.

3. Cedar Breaks National Monument - Approximately 1.5 hours away, this area offers beautiful vistas and wildflower displays.

4. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area -Approximately 3.5 hours from Hurricane, Utah. (Closest point is Lone Rock, Lake Powell only 2 hours from Hurricane City)

5. Paria Canyon, Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness - Approximately 3 hours from Hurricane is well worth the drive to experience White Pocket (no permit required) and The Wave if you’re lucky enough to land a permit.

6. Antelope Canyon - Located near Page, Arizona, it’s about a 2.5-hour drive and is famous for its stunning slot canyons.

Water Canyon - 27 miles from Hurricane, Utah this local favorite offers not only beautiful views but also the most delicious fresh water from the Water Canyon Spring.

Yants Flat - Locally nicknamed the Candy Cliffs this hike is just 20 miles from Hurricane and offers a wonderland of petrified colorful sand dunes to explore. Similar look to the famous Wave and White pocket Vermilion Cliffs in AZ.

Moe’s Valley Climbing Area - This iconic local climbing area is just 20 miles from Hurricane.
